Services
Reel Servicing & Reel Repairs
- We are your one stop shop for reel repairs and servicing. We have the facility to manufacture parts for various reels if need be.
- If you plan on dropping off your reel in person, email or phone ahead to make an appointment.
- If you are sending your reel via post, please fill out the service from and ensure this accompanies the reel when you send it in.
Spare Parts
- Our stock of spare parts, including gears and handles, grows ever larger even as you read this. Included in our assortment are a wide range of miniature bearings, carbontex drag washers, lubricants and specialized custom parts.
Drag Upgrades
- Drag upgrades are available for most reels, from lapping steel drag washers to ground stainless steel metal washers, from carbontex washers to felt and cork. All washers can be custom cut to suit your needs.
Respooling Your Reels
- We can respool your reels with Exact Depth Japanese Braid Available in most sizes from 25 cents per meter

Pricing effective as of 01/07/2026
- The above charges are for labour & lube only; any parts required will be at extra cost. Additional labour is at $95.00 per hour. Repairs are charged at hourly rate.
- Very corroded reels or reels in poor condition will attract extra labour charges due to the extra time spent stripping and cleaning.
- Extra labour charges will apply for extracting broken screws and alike.
- Minimum labour charge to strip, clean & quote $35.00–$50.00 dependent on reel size.
- Any non-stock part freight charges on parts will be passed onto the customer at cost.
- Mail orders: Freight will depend on size & weight. The average reel, say an Abu 6500C3, will cost about $20.00–$30.00 for postage & handling one way. Please note that all reels will be sent back with signature on delivery and insurance at extra cost.
